I’m glad that I purchased a stand-up desk for work, which I use in a separate space for work activities. It has opened up my bedroom desk, which was intended as a music workstation, to serve as that specifically.
I recovered many Cubase sessions from the past at some point in the last year, and I also recovered various MIDI data from old Cakewalk files. Now is the time that I narrow down all the old files so that only the relevant ones are present for me to expand upon, and try to turn into a completed work.
Many things I’ve worked on in the past were just experiments, and even if I like what was created, my criteria for moving forward is a sense in my mind that I can see where else it can go. Also the motivation has to be there too.
This is certainly necessary because it’s just overwhelming to see all those sessions otherwise.
The same applies to lyrics. That’s the reason I created this Arcadia site, because it just doesn’t feel like lyrics in a text file does them justice. I want to organize ideas into categories, and present them in different ways. Websites are the ultimate form of multimedia. I also figure that presenting everything on a website will make sure that my legacy is accessible to others easily, if needed.
This is one of the most important things I want to leave on this earth.
I want to make an album about the struggles of teenagers in surviving the social hierarchy that naturally forms in high school, and send the message that this isn’t what the world will ultimately be afterwards.
